These terms explain what Semnio is and how to use it fairly. By using Semnio or creating an account, you agree to these terms. Semnio is operated by Tyshawn Allison as an individual, based in Illinois, USA (“Semnio,” “we,” or “us”). This page is written in plain language and is not a substitute for legal advice.

What Semnio is

Semnio is an educational practice tool for accounting. It gives you practice questions, explanations, lessons, and study features to help you learn. Semnio is an independent study aid and continues to be actively developed, so features may change, be added, or be removed as we improve it.

What Semnio is not

• It is not official course instruction.
• It is not a replacement for your professor, tutoring, textbook, or coursework.
• It is not legal, accounting, tax, or financial advice.
• It is not affiliated with, approved by, or endorsed by any school, university, or accounting body unless we state that separately in writing.

Accuracy and no guarantees

We work hard to keep the content accurate and to review questions before they are shown to students. Even so, Semnio is a study aid and content may contain errors, simplifications, or content that is still being reviewed. Always defer to your professor, your textbook, and current accounting standards. Using Semnio does not guarantee any particular grade, exam result, course outcome, or CPA outcome. If you think an answer or explanation is wrong, please tell us so we can review and fix it.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account.
• Please provide accurate information when you sign up, and let us know if something looks wrong.
• You can stop using Semnio at any time. You can also ask us to delete your account and data (see the Privacy Policy).

Academic integrity

• You are responsible for your own coursework and for following your school's academic integrity rules.
• Use Semnio to learn and practice, not to complete graded work in a way your instructor would not allow.

Fair use

Please do not:

• Misuse the app or try to break its access or security
• Scrape, copy, republish, or bulk download the questions or content
• Spam reports or feedback
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data

Content and ownership

The questions, explanations, lessons, and other materials in Semnio are original works and are owned by Semnio and its operator, and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use them for your own personal study only. If you send us feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, you allow us to use them to improve Semnio without any obligation to you.

Availability and changes

Semnio is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features may change, break, or be removed while we improve the app, and some features are labeled as coming soon or pending review and are not guaranteed. We do not promise the service will always be available or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Semnio and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, including reliance on any content. Semnio is a study aid, and you use it at your own discretion.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service, harm other users, or violate these terms. You may stop using Semnio and request account deletion at any time.

Schools and institutions

Semnio is a student-facing study tool. Any pilot, classroom, or institutional use is subject to a separate written agreement. Nothing on this site should be read as a claim of school approval, accreditation, or endorsement unless we state that separately in writing.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Semnio evolves. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use Semnio after an update means you accept the updated terms.
